The frustration of trying to provide details about insurance when not feeling well and standing at the emergency department registration counter soon will be a thing of the past.
Renovations are under way at Coshocton Hospital that will separate people who need immediate critical care from those who come in with minor ailments, such as flu symptoms or ear infections. Those patients won’t have to wait while someone with serious injuries, such as a crash victim, are admitted ahead of them.
Beginning March 1, the first person patients coming to the emergency department will see will be a nurse, who’ll assess which department is appropriate for treatment.
